My participant card is not working when I try to pay: Troubleshoot guide

It can be frustrating when your card doesn't work when you are at the shops so it is important to make sure you understand why the card may not work at the time. Most of the features on SpendAble are to empower people to handle their own money and budgets as well as keep your money safe and secure. 

Here are the main reasons why your card might not be working: 

You are using the wrong PIN

If you are trying to pay for something that is more than $100 or withdrawing cash from an ATM then you will be asked for a PIN. 

Your PIN is a 4 digit code that is different to your login password.

You don't have enough money in your wallet

If the balance of your wallet is lower than the amount you are trying to pay then it will decline.

To fix this, deposit more money or transfer funds from another wallet to the wallet you are trying to use. 

You have the wrong card

On the home page you will see the last 4 digits of the card you should be using. Make sure the card in your hand has the same last 4 digits as the ones on the home page of the app.

You haven't selected a wallet to spend with

If you login to your SpendAble app and the home screen says "No wallet connected" then you have not got a wallet selected. 

To fix this you need to follow these instructions to make your first payment (https://storage.googleapis.com/msgsndr/Pkn7yggrsCLAHtfI3qCv/media/666bd54c8312836c04d69849.pdf).

You don't have cash withdrawal activated 

To allow cash to be withdrawn it needs to be switched on in the wallet.

To check this, go into the wallet and view the switch for "Cash Withdrawal". To allow this, press the edit button in the wallet preferences and switch the cash withdrawal to 'On'

There is an issue with the SpendAble software

WHen the software is not working, the SPendAble team will update the status page to indicate what parts of the software are not working.
